L.A.M.B. Spring 2009 Collection at Cashmere

We received our second spring L.A.M.B. shipment and  our customers reaction has been phenominal at the store.    Some of our favorite pieces are the Henna Gown, Henna Scarf in pink, Patch Cardigan and Elegant Suit Dress.  Maxi dresses are all the rage this spring and L.A.M.B. did it right!  The henna print is so unique and compliments a long dress so well.  This piece is sure to sell out fast.

The henna scarf in pink is absoluelty amazing.  We just love the ombre effect and the sequin and fringe detail.  We sold our initial shipment of scarves the first day, but will be getting a limited amount within the next week.  Email to preorder yours now!

L.A.M.B. Spring 2009 Inspiration

The spring 2009 collection combines the idea of  40’s Western tailoring juxtaposed to the richness of Indian costume and textiles.  “I was so inspired by the beautiful fabrics and colors of India on top of loving the tailoring that was done in the 1940’s.  I thought it would be great to bring those two concepts together,” says Gwen.

The spring 2009 collection features fabrics and trims that include many variations on cotton, including silks, gauzes, double layer cottons and cotton stretch in addition to jerseys and wool crepe.  L.A.M.B.’s signature use of black and white has been supplemeted with vivid clementine orange, sindoor red and electric pink as well as rich heather greys.  As always, Gwen’s collection features unique prints, including a celestial print, a henna print, a block print, a nomad print, and a border print.  The silhouettes include classic, feminine L.A.M.B. staples like pencil skirts and playful dresses, however many of the jackets feature menswear tailoring.  The dichotomy represents the L.A.M.B. girl who is complex, sophisticated and never just one thing.

We recently received or Signorelli cashmere shipment.  What fun and luxurious pieces!  We just love them, which is no surprise because they are made of 100% super soft cashmere.  We have the Children’s Health Fund cardigan and scarf, breast cancer scarf and the Omni Peace scarf. 

If you are not familiar with Signorelli here is a short run down of the line.  They design items for various charities and donate a portion of the proceeds to the respecting charity.  A few of the charities they work with are, Omni Peace, American Heart Association, Susan G Koman for the Cure, Environmental Conservation….

Celebrate the beauty of the season with the Annual
Christmas Walk and House Tour.

The traditional Christmas Walk begins on December 5 at 6:00 pm when Santa Lucia, the Swedish symbol of the season, and her attendants arrive by horse-drawn carriage to offer Swedish cookies to visitors. Santa makes his appearance to light the Great Tree on the Courthouse lawn and officially opens his Gingerbread House at 6:30 pm. Enjoy an evening of holiday shopping and dining in historic Geneva and delight in chestnuts roasting, strolling carolers, freshly-made candy canes and hot cider.
